KTR to lay foundation for IMAGE multimedia tower in Hyderabad


The IMAGE Tower will also provide plug and play spaces, with world-class built-up office space, which will be provided at subsidised rates.


Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao will lay the foundation stone for the IMAGE (Innovation in Multimedia, Animation, Gaming and Entertainment) Tower at Hyderabad Knowledge City, Raidurgam of Serilingampally mandal, on Sunday, November 5. The IMAGE Tower will be a centre of excellence with state-of-the-art facilities that will act as a catalyst for animation, visual effects, gaming and comics sectors in Telangana.
The Telangana government launched an IMAGE Policy for the project in April 2016. The proposed towers will come up with 16 lakh sq ft built-up area at a cost of Rs 945 crore and will have common facilities for motion capture, visualisation, visual effects and sound. The project will provide an ideal environment for production and distribution, media content management, film content rights management, production and post-production of animation, visual effects, gaming and comics.

The IMAGE Tower will also provide plug and play spaces, with world-class built-up office space, which will be provided at subsidised rates to first generation technocrat entrepreneurs, SMEs engaged in animation, visual effects, gaming and comics activities, and consist of all support services.Besides this, the other activities to be taken up by the government include promotion of AVGC Public and Private Parks/business improvement areas, setting up common facility centres such as sound and video editing, video/still photography and motion capture, an incubation centre for AVGC Industry and establish reliable, high-speed telecommunication link as the volume of data transferred is multi fold compared to the IT industry.
