Telangana scraps 25% intermediate weightage for the EAMCET exam
From this year, candidates appearing for the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Admission Test (TS EAMCET) will receive their ranks based solely on their performance in the entrance exam.
The Telangana state government has eliminated the weightage previously given to intermediate marks, which accounted for 25% of the ranking process.
The revised guidelines were published on Wednesday, and modification has been made to the 2011 guidelines (GO MS 73). As per the new guidelines, candidates who qualify in the EAMCET exam and those belonging to SC and ST categories who have not been prescribed any qualifying marks will be ranked based on their EAMCET exam scores only.
In the past, the weightage given to intermediate marks had been modified due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has now been completely eliminated. The EAMCET 2023 AM exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 10 and 11, while the engineering exam will be held on May 12, 13, and 14. Both tests will be held in two sessions, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
